The deadline for submitting a postdeadline paper is March 11, 2009, 12:00 p.m. noon EDT (16.00 GMT). You will be unable to edit your postdeadline submission past this time.

1. Choose Your Conference:
OFC is dedicated to the research and development of optical fiber and communications technologies.
Submissions should be motivated by ideas and concepts with a longer-term practical realization.
They should be technical in nature, with emphasis on:
- Fundamental performance characteristics and incremental advances;
- New technologies impacting components, sub-systems, systems and networks;
- Descriptions of research experiments including test-beds and evaluation of new concepts over real-world infrastructure; and
- Theoretical understanding and associated modeling.

NFOEC is dedicated to the design, engineering and implementation of optical fiber and communications networks and services.
Submissions should be motivated by practical concerns associated with the near- to mid-term needs of engineering and operating a network and deploying new services.
They should be technical in nature, with emphasis on:
- Engineering performance characteristics;
- Field trials of “Beta” products and solutions;
- Network design, installation and deployment of new technologies and services;
- Management, operations, administration and maintenance implications including testing methods;
- Architecture and planning methodologies and guidelines; and
- Standardization and interoperability.

- NO late submissions will be accepted for any reason. The deadline is at NOON Eastern Standard Time, not midnight.
- NO revisions will be accepted for any reason. Check your paper before submitting.
- Follow the style guide. Avoid Asian fonts!
- Submit electronically through the OASIS system.
3. Receive Your Notification
- Notifications will be emailed to primary authors the week of December 15, 2008.
